Night commuter returns home
Night Commuters make their way home in the early morning in Kitgum, Uganda. There are now over 16,000 commuters -mostly unaccompanied children and women- who make their way into Kitgum every night to sleep. They attempting to avoid capture and torture at the hands of the LRA. Unfortunately they are also pray to mysterious men who also roam the night in town. Although no statistics are kept, rape is a common occurrence among Night Commuters.
Some walk upwards of 10 kilometers each day, to and from town.
