Rock Eagle Effigy Mound is thought to date from the Woodland period of Southeastern archaeology. The mound is constructed of quartzite boulders. The mound measures 102 feet long, 120 feet wide and is up to 8 feet tall. Rock Eagle is owned by the University of Georgia and part of the Rock Eagle 4-h center.
